Lifestyle potential against recurrent intraoral herpes recurrence rate: a case series

چکیده

Introduction: Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 (HSV-1) is the virus that most often infects oral cavity. HSV-1 in latent phase migrates to trigeminal ganglion after primary infection and can reactivate cause recurrent intraoral herpes (RIH). The recurrence of RIH multifactorial triggered by decreased immunity, fatigue, hypersensitivity, stress, ultraviolet. Case: Three male patients came Oral Disease Clinic with ulcers experienced prodromal symptoms characteristic features were multiple rounded spreading surrounded erythematous areas. Anti-HSV-1 IgG examination showed reactive results. Management: therapy was acyclovir trigger factor modifica-tion. lesions all recovered there no new lesions. Conclusion: Lifestyle habits have a high potential be triggering for recurrence, so comprehensive treatment needed prevent recurrence.
